Parental and Community Engagement
Numerous studies have shown parental involvement in their children's education is key to student success regardless of their socioeconomic status or household structure. When we aim to nurture those relationships with families it doesn’t only impact that student, but the classroom and school community as well.

Creating a sense of community and connection has been paramount throughout all the volunteer leadership positions I’ve held. I’ve built amazing connections for the last 30+ years being a part of FCS whether as a student or volunteering in multiple schools throughout the community. I will continue to strengthen those so it benefits all our families at every socioeconomic level throughout District 1.

Expanding GA Pre-K and Early Childhood Education
Equitable access to early childhood education plays a critical role in the cognitive, emotional and social development of children. In Fulton County nearly 35% of our students start kindergarten without having any exposure to a classroom. Currently, we have classrooms at established schools that are sitting empty. I’d like to champion additional opportunities for our proven GA Pre-K programs in schools where possible.

Fiscally Responsible & Protect Home Values
I have a fiduciary responsibility to be a good steward of our tax dollars. Our board has put FCS in solid financial shape with no debt by utilizing SPLOST funds, and not raising the millage rate. I want to continue that legacy.

Quite frankly having excellent schools improves home values, and as a REALTOR, I am well versed in the importance protecting those. My husband and I are also fortunate enough to own our second home in Roswell, so I have a personal interest in protecting that investment. I will continue to push for high performance from all our District 1 schools so that our students and our community thrive.

Building BRIGHTER Futures TOGETHER

Teacher and Staff Support
In working with teachers at multiple schools in District 1 it is evident that they would like more support staff. I will work to get more paraprofessionals in classrooms to provide the much needed support to students and teachers that need it most.

I will also continue to champion teachers and support staff so they receive top-notch professional development, and ensure they feel valued as an integral part of Fulton County Schools. Part of that is advocating for competitive salaries and benefits to attract and retain high-quality educators and staff.

Safety
I will continue to carry out a culture safety in our schools. That extends beyond the physical confines of schools; it encompasses the digital realm as well. By continuing to invest in safety officers and staff training we foster an environment where our kids can focus on learning instead of statistically unlikely outside threats. They also need to be able discern danger online as well in a rapidly changing digital world.

Transparency, Integrity & Accountability
My commitment is to perform with transparency, integrity and accountability in all things related to my duties as FCS BoE representative. These are pillars of my core value system, and the values in how Chris and I are raising our children. You can count on me to do the right thing even when no one is watching.

Future Focus for Students in a Changing World
I will advocate for curriculum improvements that are inclusive, comprehensive, and prepare students for a globalized world with a focus on social and emotional well-being. This would include AI, STEAM, online literacy and put emphasis on critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
